Broken Heart Still Beautiful (Poem)

Writer's picture: Ginger GregoryGinger Gregory

Ready for God to mend her heart.

Pounding,

Pure jackhammer

Jolting—

Shattered symbol

of love,

pumping memories

like

painful shards

Cutting and

Splicing

and Slicing

love’s

portrait.

Diamond ring

Glimmering yet

Tainted with

Turmoil,

Not worn out

yet never

worn again.

Trust

Run over,

Eighteen-wheeler

Roadkill,

Speeding

over sorrow,

No empathy

expressway.

Red pieces

Scattered then yet

Not love’s end—

puzzle

Yet to

Be solved.

No preview

Yet the

Maker

places

His Peace

Inside—

Protecting and

preserving

that

beautiful

heart.
